Hello all,

I am just added a T-1 to my Definity R9 Prologix PBX and I am trying to change my settings to make ALL outbound calls go over that T-1 and my other trunks to be incoming only. I tried simply to change the direction of the others and it states I cannot change that as there is a route pattern associated. When I go to the route pattern of 1 it shows GRP NO. 2 then 1. is it safe to say those are the trunk groups that are set up to dial out first?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Please let me know if you need more clarification.

Try inputting this first; list ars route-chosen (enter dialed number). This will tell you how the call is being routed. Another thing you could do is change your ARS tables and route all call through the new trunk group in a new route pattern. Here is an exampale of how I input the command and what the switch shows:
list ars route-chosen 1303488
1303 11 11 p4 fnpa all

Hope this helps

GRP No is the trunk group number. Your will try to route out trunk group 2, then trunk group 1.
remove the trunk group #(inbound Trunk Group) from all route's.

ahhh ok.. so if I change my the current Trunk group of 2 that is two way to #5 that is outbound only, all calls will go out 5 first? I currently am able to do a DAC and get make calls out on that, so I am sure the FRL and all of that is ok. Then I can go back and change TG #2 to an incoming only.

If trunk group 5 is your new outbound trunk, then yes, change the GRP No 2 to 5 on all or your route patterns. This will make all out bound calls go to trunk group 5.

If this changes your 911 route, then I would recommend testing it after you make the change.

Thank you both for your input. I will put this in place tonight as our trunks are currently in service and have calls up on them.

Thanks!
Mike
