I have a problem regarding i am trying to load a gazetteer on to my database.
This includes the load of over 3 million records.
When i run in archive mode it fills up area ( 1 gb filesystem) i have no space available to increase.
When i run with archive set to FALSE and noarchivemode and set a large rollback as much as possible ( 300mb only available )
it fills up, i think i need at least a rollback of 2.5gb to accomblish this load in this fashion.

Can anybody surgest how i get this load complete without filling up my space. Somehow i need to commit and re-use areas or ??

Please help

Many thanks in advance

Try to load with DIRECT option Regards, Dima

Please explain the DIRECT option
how do you execute this.
I am loading records via a package for suppliers therefore i cannot amend script!

Will this DIRECT option still work?

thanks

DIRECT is an option of sql*loader, a tool that is normally used to load large amount of data. If you use some other procedure, you may try to commit after each bunch of records. Though, in this case it's up to you to provide transactions support. Regards, Dima
