Hi,
Have a situation where Windows XP laptop will not work with Roaming profiles when it picks up it's address via DHCP. I have made sure DNS and WINS are set to the server in the scope options. Basically says it cannot locate the Roaming profile on the server. Have checked and it has full access to share for profiles. Even reset permissions on all child objects to be sure.
Switch to Static IP and all is fine....need to have DHCP in place for moving between offices (and moving profile over VPN with DFS, which seems to work great - just having to change from static to DHCP is a pain). On other site picks up fine. Also, server has just been rebuilt due to a disaster situation - 2 of 3 RAID drives failed. Joined to AD Domain across VPN and promoted server - with same name.....had to remove first from AD with ntds util, following procedure too longwinded to enter here, but will find doc again if anyone interested......point being, server is NEW build, and same behaviour.....but other server at other end does not have problem....
Any ideas?
