Hi,

I've set up a network with the DC running win2k3. I've got all aspects of the network running. However when i've followed the instructions that MS help provides for setting up a roaming profile i find it doesn't work.

I've put the correct network path to where i want the profile to be but when the user logs out i get the message that says that there is either insufficent network resources or the permissions haven't be set correctly.

I know i'm probably overlooking something really simple, but it's monday morning, lol.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Cheers. :)

I would check and make sure that both the directory permissions are set properly for user access to their own roaming profile destination on the server AS WELL as the share permissions. Remember that even if you give them full control of the directory security, they will be limited by the share's permissions.

If this isn't the case, please give a bit more info as to how you have everything set up. Do you have default profiles? Are you letting the local machine auto-create the profiles?

lol, doh. Well after reading your post i've just put 2 + 2 together. Because i was in a rush i didn't set the permission to the share on the directory when mapping them. Only realised this after i was trying to sort the roaming profile out, because i was trying to write to their share dir and realised i hadn't set the permissions.

Cheers as you've just cleared that up for me.)
