I am new to the world of server based operating systems, and I have just recently set one up. Everything has gone great, but I have a question about roaming profiles and local profiles.
I have existing systems that joined the domain, and when I log in locally, everything's dandy. When I log into the domain, the system creates a new profile on the system to represent the domain login (ie mwingeier, and now domain.mwingeier). I understand this to be default behavior of the system, but is there any way to set it up so that the system will use the same local profile setup for local and domain logins?

Not that I'm aware of. Win2k sees each user as completely different with different SIDs. One user is being authenticated by the local operating system and the other by your domain controller.

go to COntorl PAnel-->SYstem->USer profiles and then highlight the profile you want and go to Copy, and the you must browse to documents and settings and the user you want to copy the profile to be the same.
IS that what you want? A+, MCP, CCNA

Actually, I didn't care about the profile data so much as I wanted not to have to duplicate certain data, such as the My Documents folder. Now each login has a seperate one.

You should try pointing the home folder of both accounts to the same place.
