Long story short, we have Volume license on our software. I have RiPrep image, with the default answer file, in which I inserted ProductKey = "" like in all examples and I have even tried ProductID = , which works for BASE ris images and i am STILL being prompted to enter the information. What gives? Any help?

I am having the same exact problem. The funny thing is my answer file looks exactly the same for two different images. For one image, it works fine. For the other image, it does not work and prompts me for a CD key. Has anyone figured this out?

First question: When it prompts, are you entering the SAME key that's in your answer file, and does that work?

Second question: Are you using the volume license media to create the image?

Yes and Yes.

1. I put in the CD key in the answer file, and then it prompts me for a computer name and password. At which point, I enter the information and the installation picks up from there. It can apparantly see the answer file, because it joins the specified domain in the answer file without any input from me.

It's like it can't see the information in [UserData] and [GuiUnattended]

2. Yes, all of my images were created from the original volume license media.

Here's my answer file if it helps. This answer file works fine with other images of the same model, but not with one in particular. Any thoughts?

I was originally using ProductID instead of ProductKey. I changed it in hopes that it would change, but the bahavior was the same.

I tried the script that page said to try. But it still did not work. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Any more ideas?

It has been a long time since i had to write an answer file and i remember having the issue and for the life of me do not remember exactly what i did to get around it but i think i put the productkey in the first part of the user data. Some users say they get it to work using the
ProductID = "xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx"
They also point out the dashes and quotes have to be left in. I will look through my old documentation if i can retrieve it and see if my working one is still there.

I am at a complete loss here. I tried that link, but it did not work.

It has to do with the files actually in the Mirror directory on the server for that image. Because I can take the Mirror1 folder from a different image that uses the same model computer, and manually overwrite the Mirror1 image for the one that is not working, and VIOLA, it works fine, even though it is still using the same answer file that did not work before the Mirror1 folder was not overwritten.

I've about given up. Any more ideas?

My sample file is below,If you can overwrite the mirror and the answer file works it might just be a corrupt image try recreating the image.
