Does RIP V2 support VLSM by default and if so is it enabled by default?

Thank You ;-)

I believe so as RIP V2 carries the Subnet mask in the advertisement. As long as your running V2 and ip classless all should be ok.

So I do not have to enter "no auto-summary" in router config mode?

Hi,

Blimey... just had to get the book out, could not remember... looks by default v2 does summarize on the boundaries, so your quite right, no auto-summary is also needed.

HTH... Lee
