On Verizon Wireless lucent switches it gives a beep when the user is on the phone when your calling them. Can IPO do this? Let the other user know that the party is on the phone by playing a beep.

It does. At default it rings once at the same time as the second call alerts on the second call appearance key.

Also: Fetaures> Call Settings> Auto Display waiting call

Just to clarify, internally the call recipient can receive an audible indicator that another call is waiting. The call originator will not get an audible indication that the recipient is on the phone.

Use user keys and the callback button.
