We recently replaced our old PBX system with a Avaya S8710 system. It's great, I love it. Just trying to figure out how to adminsiter it. Almost all of our phones are either 4610 or 4621. We have a few data sets but most are IP. I have a user that is wanting to change the ringing on his phone. He would like to have his phone (4610IP) set up to do the following:
When he is on his line and he receives a second call, he would like it to go directly to voicemail without ringing.

Can this be done? Is there a way to disable ringing altogether? I can change the number of times a phone rings by changing the coverage path in Avaya Site Adninistration that was set up by Avaya, but the phone will ring at least 1 time before it goes to voicemail. We have coverage paths that allow from 1 to 6 rings. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

On page 2 of the station screen, change the field "Active Station Ringing" to silent.

From the Admin manual:
Active Station Ringing: Defines how call rings to the phone when it is off-hook. [red]This field does not affect how calls ring at this phone when the phone is on-hook.[/red]

Valid entries:
continuous - Enter continuous to cause all calls to this phone to ring continuously.
single - Enter single to cause calls to this phone to receive one ring cycle and then ring silently.
if-busy-single - Enter if-busy-single to cause calls to this phone to ring continuously when the phone is off-hook and idle and calls to this phone to receive one ring cycle and then ring silently when the phone is off-hook and active.
silent - Enter silent to cause all calls to this station to just ring silently.
