I want to put some new rulebase on the Checkpoint FW. I want a situation that should it not work, I am able to revert back to what was working before. I do a 'File Save As' but I had problems as some values still changed.

How do I go about this?

Thanks

Vallan,

You should just be able to do a File>Save as and you will have a replica Rule Base. Note if you make changes to Objects, Automatic NAT, Simplified VPN Configuration in VPN manager - this will apply to all rulebases.

You can also use version control to revert back to a particular version of a policy package.

Hope this helps.

I am actually writing VPN rules - traditional mode. Will this be affected. I have doen a file Save but when i click on open i do not see it. What am I doing that is not right.

Thanks

Traditional Mode applied per rule base. When you click File>Save As and you tyoe a Policy Package Name, it saves it and makes it the current policy - you cannot open a current policy. If you open another policy and then do a File>Open you will see the policy with the name when you earlier did a File>Save As.
