reverse engineering 1

I have duplicated tables when I do a reverse engineering, I don't understand why! Can you answer me, please?

What db are you reversing from ? Are your reversing into an existing model or a new model?

I work with Oracle DB and I'm reversing to a new model.

When you select reverse engineering and the dialog box comes up , and you can see the tables selection list (if youre reversing via OCBC), can you see the multiple tables there?

What version of ORacle and PowerDesigner are you using (inlcuding build no)?

No I don't see multiple tables in the dialog box. I'm using Oracle 8 and PowerDesigner 9.

Do you know the build no of PD (go to Help -> About) and is it Oracle 8i2 , 8i etc?

I think what you may be experiencing is the 'synonyms' (not to be confused with Oracle synonyms, in the autolayout feature of PD9. What it does is create duplicate tables but has a : and a number after the table name. While these don't affect the layouts and DDL generation, they are annoying. There is a VB script available through Sybase to turn this feature off.
