Hi all,

After coming out of hibernation mode the laptop runs a great deal slower, and for some reason cannot ping its gateway! This means the user has to reboot before being able to access any network resources. An ipconfig /all reveals that all the settings from DHCP are still there. Any ideas??

Thanks in advance

Hello, we had this problem with some Dell PC's, try turning off the power options for the NIC, we did and they worked fine.

thanks for the idea but that did not work. I have tried updating to the latest driver for its NIC card, a 10/100pro VE but no luck...

What about the autodisconnect value on the server? If the server drops you while you are hibernated it may take a long time to re-establish a connection.

Never mind, I hadn't thought that all the way through.

I got the same problem with Compaq EVOs - in the end I disabled hibernation. Also, when the power is plugged in, which presumably it could easily be if it's attached to the network by cable, I don't turn off the hard disk
