When you say "Return Receipt", do you want to be notififed when the recipient reads your email? I just checked my Outlook 98 and was unable to find the option. However, it exists because I use that feature at work in Outlook 98. Maybe, the feature is only avaiable when Outlook 98 is used in an network setting where Exchange is loaded. It seems that the option is not available to Dial Up Accounts through and ISP when Outlook 98 is configured.
If there is a way feel me in.
Joe

Hi Joe,

Yes, I want to be notified when someone reads the mail that I have sent them. It does seem to have something to do with Outlook being installed on a network, but I used to have this functionality in an older version of Outlook that wasn't. Why has that changed and what does a network have to do with this?
I am not sure why it does not allow you now if you had it working before. I have only seen it used when setting Outlook 98 to MS Exchange. I am using an ISP at home, and it does not even give me the option or even show that there is an option available to track messages. So to answer your question, I am not quite sure at the moment why it does not allow you.
When I find an answer I will get back with you.
In Outlook 2000 Go to:
Tools ¦ Options ¦ Preferences ¦ E-mail Options (button) ¦ Tracking Options (button)

Check the box for "Request a read receipt for all messages I send"

It might be similar for other versions.

I am not here.
Found this thread whilst trying to find out why I didn't have read receipt available on my OE when I have had it previously. I have obviously had a more recent version and then installed an older one (5.00xx) after formatting the HD.
The Microsoft Knowledge Base info I found:
Read receipts are available in Outlook Express version 5.01 and later (with instructions on how to enable it)
