Retrieving report data over network is slow after DB location moved.

Since moving the Lawson DB from one AIX UNIX box to another, user reported a slow-down in ResportSmith. I ran report & it took 35-40 minutes. If I run the same report using Business Objects application, it takes 3-4 minutes. There seems to be a lot of request/response activity over the network. Is there anyway to tell ReportSmith to revise the way it retrieves data over the network: ex. larger block size, etc. and how would I do that.
