I am sure the answer is obvious but can anybody help this dumbo

I have downloaded a VB application but when I attempt to load the .vbp into VB5 I get "Retained Is An Invalid Key!" and the application won't load.

I know, I used to have the same problem before I got VB6.0.

However, there is a solution and I'm sure many would have others that I hope will also help you. but for now, here's mine.
Go to and do a search there. You will find freebies that convert VB6.0 app's to VB5.0 app's.

Hope this helps for now, but I'm sure someone else will have a better solution. "We Hope" HUH? :)

You can open the .vbp file with notepad or other text editor, delete the offending key(s), save the file and reload in the IDE.

Thanks Mark, that's what I like. A simple solution for a simple guy. It worked well.
