I'm relatively new to setting up restrictions. I created a new filter 03 and added the restriction of '1'. However, whenever I place this restriction on one set other sets receive the same restriction. What am I doing wrong? In addition, I want to have the restriction bypassed by certain users with a password. Can anyone please help??

thanks!

probably 03 is the filter used in all sets
try using a diff filter and define it to that set only and it'll be effective on one set.

COS passwords is what you need to setup, to bypass the restrictions. it'll be in the installer guide

Depending on the software version of KSU you are using, the default restriction filter for the lines is Filter 03.

If you have applied a long distance restriction to filter 03, then the all the sets will follow the restriction applied on the lines, no matter what restriction is applied to the sets.

Therfore, if you have prog'd filter 03 to restrict long distance, and the LINES are defaulted to that filter, all sets no matter what their restriction is will follow the restriction applied to the lines.

Use a different filter number other than 3 to use on the individual sets, like maybe use fitler 4.

The COS password is very effective and works well. Don't forget that if there are speed dials on the system, to allow "Bypass restrictions" to allow any sets that might be restricted to still dial out the intended speed dial number.

Stay away from restriction 3. Advance to 4 or higher and you will be set..
