Hi there,

We currently use Access 97 for some core business applications at our company and a few people have requested Access 2000.

Firstly, I know that Access 97 has a bit of trouble co-existing with Access 2000 and vice versa. What's the best way to get round this?

And secondly (and more importantly) is there anyway (via group policy or other means) to restrict users from being able to convert our Access 97 databases to 2000 fromat. Some people don't read pop ups properly and have a tendency to just click OK withoug knowing the consequences!

Thanks...Mark

In the code window go to Tools Menu, database Properties and select the Protection tab on the dialog box that you get.

Tick the Lock Project box and add a password.

Close Database

The database will now refuse the convert unless the password is provided.
