Hi there,

I have arcserver 2000 advanced on a windows 2000 server. I have managed to backup my oracle database 'sid1' using arcserve's oracle agent.

Now what I want to be able to do it restore the database onto another server. So that I can test that it works and create a standby database.

The error I am getting is the follows:

E8601 Failed to connect agent. (AGENT=\\TEST-SERVER\dbaora7@sid1, EC-DBagent does not exist.)

Now I tried to restore it on the oracle server into a different folder but arcserve ignored my instructions and tried to restore the datafiles in the oracle sid folder.

Does anyone know a way around this problem?

It would be a pity if arcserve only allows you to restore that files to their orginal location.

Regards

Eddy

It's in the manual under the Disaster Recovery section.

Hi davidmichel,

Thanks for the info. Thought I had read the manual from front to back but I must of missed it.

Thanks again
