Restoring Historical Data on CMS

We need to restore and rerun historical interval data on our CMS server. We are currently running CMS v11 with CentreVU Supervisor 11.0. There is a Restore Data operation within the maintenance tab of Supervisor. It allows a user to select restoration of Historical data and has a user interface to select start date/time and stop date/time of data to restore. If we use this utility to restore historical interval data from tape, will the data overwrite the existing historical data on disk?
