Restoring from Old Tapes

We recently had some problem with the Brightstore ver.11 and so removed and reinstalled the whole package. Also we created a new database and backup shcedule. Now we want to restore data from an old tape which is not included in the database. The normal way of restore isn't working. We can only see the tape is listed in the queue but can not browse the tape. Did anybody else experience the same problem? Any prompt responses are greatly appreciated.

Put the tape in the drive or library and run a merge job on it - it will repopulate the database with the catalog info.

thanx a lot for that. It just worked for me. but i want to disturb you more now, is there a way we can merge an entire old database,(instead of having all old tapes merged one by one)to the new database? I hope you got what my problem is..

Presuming you are using the standard VLDB and not SQL as your ARCserve database, take a look at these :
