Can anyone help?
I am running networker 7.11 on a win 2000 server backing up several clients. A client was recently removed, as there was no need to backup this server anymore. I know find I need a restore. The index file for this server is still in nsr\index\ dated 29/02/04
I have added this server back in the system under clients but when I try to recover any files, the latest file is from an older date. What would I need to do to get a restore from around about the 29/02/04?

You could try restoring the client index from that date. Use "nsrck -L7 <client> -t 29/02/04"
Or, scanner in the tape with the data you are trying to restore.

Thanks,
sorry for not responding any sooner.
I have scanned the tape but the data was already overwritten.

My clients have do not wish the restore anymore.

Thanks anyway

I think i know what happend here, when you recreated the client your Index directory might now have been same, therefor when you restored it looked at the newly created index by default, what you need to do is now delete the index for this clients stop networker services and replace the new index with older index and restart the services, hopefully this would resolve your issues, at the most you may have to run NSRCK -L6
