Hi.

I had a frm and frx files in my working folder. When I run "check out" in the source safe, my local files were replaced by the source safe files.

How can I restore the versions I had in my working folder, before source safe replace them?

It is VSS 6.0

thanks,
Renato.

In order for you to change objects in your project, since you mention it is controlled by sourcesafe, you would have needed to check them out, or cheat and use something like notepad to avoid sourcesafe.

Once you changed your files, did you ever check them back into sourcesafe? If not, then your only hope is a backup of your folder, which I'm guessing that you don't have.

I'm using VB6 and I can't edit a module unless it is checked out. Also, yous should configure the SS settings so that you are PROMPTED, before replacing any local files.

Well, you can circumvent the process by copying the source int a new program file and saving it locally.

My project really is controled by SS. The problem is I lost my local file wich had changes, it was replaced by SS version. I though could exist a way to restore the old version.

Sorry, but SS only has the versions that have been actually checked back in. Any local changes that have not been checked in will only reside on the workstation where the changes were made.

As suggested before, you should change all four SS options(Tools|SourceSafe|Options) to "ASK".
