The Ad account has been deleted but now we want to add the user back in with her mailbox. I have a backup and it shows the users mailbox..but how to i restore if the user has been deleted from AD.?

Thanks, PAUL

When you deleted the user from AD, did you also go to the SM and run the Cleanup Agent? How long ago did you delete the user?

If you didn't purge the user from the SM and their mailbox is still there, you can simply add the user back into AD, then go to SM and reconnect the user back to their old mailbox.

No looks like the mailbox is not in SM. when i go to restore the mailbox it just gives me an access denied. do i have to stop the mailbox store to restore a mailbox? after i restore i manually add the same user account then reconnect the mailbox with the user i added right?

Thanks, PAUL

in the properties of the mailbox store you'll have to check the 'can be overwritten by restore' box
