Hello Guys.

I'm having a small problem with Arcserve and restores.

The Plot. Win2k Server Running Arcserve r11.5 SP2 Build 4232. Win2k Server running MS Exchange 5.5 NT4 PDC

A few days back someone in the office may have deleted an email account by mistake, and forgot to tell anyone about it. The users accout was also deleted at the same time.

In order to restore this mailbox I have recreated the user account, and recreated a mailbox with the same details as before. I've logged on to this account and sent an email to confirm that the details are correct. I have go back to a tape I know the backed up mailbox should be on and tried a restore, but get the following error message:

As a test from the same tape, I restored my mailbox, this worked fine. It's just connecting to the recreated mailbox that I can't get it to do.

Any ideas would be great. Have a good weekend everyone, I'm on call :-(

Cheers all

Marty

If you do a restore like this do not use the 'restore to original location' option. If you recreate a mailbox with exactly the same settings it is not the same as the original mailbox as a new SID is created.
When restoring using the dbaxchg2 restore the complete inbox into the newly created mailbox. This should work.
