Restart parts of 2003 server

I was speaking to a IT manager the other day at work and he stated to me that server 2003 can restart sections of the O/S if it fails. i.e. DNS fails or such like.

Is this true as i cannot find any material on this matter?
 
Sounds like you are referring to "Services". This is common for all NT/2000/2003 OS'. To see your services, go to your Administrative Tools in 2003 and have a look.
 
no it was definetly not services he was talking about, i thought he was talking dribble.

he was talking like segments of the o/s
 
Well, DNS is a service not a segment of the OS. You can conrol what happens if a service fails. Take a look at the recovery tab on a service.
