I am looking for a shortcut for a Windows 98se desktop scheme. I work in a library and we have many games for children to use. Some games are older but remain popular with the children (eg "Where in the USA is Carmen Sandiego").

We need to open Settings and set the display to 256 colors (down from High Color) for these games to work. I was wondering if there is a shortcut that I can place on the desktop to do this task automagically (like the "poof" icon I have on my desktop "rundll.exe user.exe, exitwindows" to shutdown with one click). Thanks for any help offered.

It's not quite the same, but if you go to Display Properties > Settings > Advanced > General there should be a box to check Show settings icon on taskbar. Check that, click Apply, OK then OK again and there should be a display icon in the system tray that lets you change colours and resolutions easily.

I permit right-click access on the Desktop to get to Display Properites. In the shortcut, I may be looking for something that is not available. Thanks for the advice though.
