I have a netgear mgr814v2 router; COX HSI; 4 computers; all win2000; I have a major packet loss issue, unsolved by isp, unsolved by vendor of router, unsolved by me, the packet loss is not constant but happens about every 10 seconds (as shown by tracerts) i hope i dont get shunned here but i figure u guys are the best of the best, please redirect me to a better place if you know of one, I know this is a Cisco router forum but i dont know where else to go

for starters we need a bit more info then this. When do you notice the packet lose? how do you notice? lost connection? slow connection? what does extended pings from workstation to router show? better yet, run an extended traceroute which is a more reliable indicator to the health of a link. Anything in the Windows event log files? Turn on syslog for the router and send the results to a workstation. If you have 10/100 links, force them to be 10 OR 100.. dont let them auto anything..

I notice the packet loss while playing games and browsing the internet; i notice it by the game actually showing how much loss im having (if you aer familiar with HL you know what i mean) and when webpages take abnormally long to load or they just do not load at all, i dont have time to do the pings now but i will do it later

Hmmmmm,

How big is your pipe? Are you noticing this lag while others are on the network (said there are 4 computers)? Like JimmyHat (sorry Jimmy couldn't resist) said more information is needed.
