I have a Sever edition IPO that I changed but Linux root password on when we installed it but for some reason it does not work and I am trying to get some VM files from it. I tried resetting the root password in web manager but no go. Can I set default the security settings for the sever and the it will be Administrator and Administrator.

Any help would be appreciated..

Hope this helps helps mate.

I tried defaulting the security settings but still no luck. I guess I will have to hook up a monitor to console and try resting linux Administrator password that way.. Not sure how to do that but, I will try

Thanks for response

Just a follow up.

I was able to hook a monitor and keyboard up to server able reset the Linux Administrator password. The docs on this are very confusing or I am misreading them.
The Root Password is different than the Linux Admin password and the this is different than the IPO administrator password . So 3 separate accounts/passwords

Yes, there are several layers of user accounts; and you have to authenticate through each layer to eventually get to root. If you truly need root for something like changing folder permissions, it is pretty darn tough to get that "defaulted" since the IPO accounts you login to aren't running that deep.
