resetting bios, detecting cd-rom? HOW??

Here's the deal. Earlier 2day, my college removed his cd-rom from his computer. He formatted his computer later, and formatted and partioned all the drives. Then hooked up the cd-rom drive. We then booted from Win98 boot disk. The computer dosent detect the cd-rom. So we cant install Windows. We tried accessing the BIOS, but some1 put a password on it, and we cant get in. Is there a way to reset the BIOS/Motherboard? And how do we get the cd-rom to be detected and work? Any ideas appreaciated!

Password can be removed by unplugging the battery, possibly for an hour of so. Then resetting the variables on next powerup.
Once into the bios you might be able to set cd boot as an option. Some boards allow it. If not , then you need a boot disk with cd support.
Do a search of the forums for "boot disk". You should find several links to web sites with disks available for download. Ed Fair
