So.... we bought three used QE phones to expand our system. To connect them, I did a factory reset by holding the "options" button down during bootup until it gave me the option to do a factory reset. However, one of the phones never goes to that menu, it repeatedly reboots until I release the button, no factory reset menu.

Any ideas of what is going on here? Any other options for resetting (Is there an internal battery storing settings)? I've tried to access the system options, but the previous owner changed it from the default... I've tried every generic password I can think of. :/

I've had good luck so far.... But is there somewhere else you suggest that I post?

You have not had that much good luck, both your previous posts gave you an answer you were not really after and the advice has not changed since, stop adding to a terrible system and buy a good one that you can re-use those handsetes on :)

Hate to tell you the info is stored in flash memory, if the "holding the options button" doesn't work it might be because
1. it is a 4621SW but with the wrong firmware (regular h.323)
2. it is just simply pooched

when it boots up completely and grabs an IP address (hopefully it is not statically assigned) can you access it via the browser?

amriddle is right though it is a terrible system, actually not even a system, more like a nuisance you can make calls from, sometimes

its like the difference between running your corporate network in a windows workgroup, or a proper active directory domain.

I respectfully disagree... I have found the answers to all of my questions. Obviously not all the answers I would like to hear. With that said, I'm very appreciative to all. :)

I'm not a phone expert, I discussed the recommendation of a new phone system to the firm partners. Old dogs don't like to learn new tricks. I'm trying to make the best of it.

The phone loads up with the OneX QE info, it's not exactly the same as the others. I can access the phone with a browser, but it's not connecting to our system and so the system password is not the same as ours. I have the basic "user" password.

So, I believe either it has a bad flash. Or perhaps it's a version that doesn't respond the same way to the "options" reset. Assuming it's not a bad flash, the only way I can see salvaging it, is by getting the system password reset.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Do you think Avaya would help me reset the password?

The ipoffice can do old and new tricks while the qe only do the new tricks.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!
