Hi!
As far as I know a RES file is an archive which contains for example, images, sounds, icones, etc, any kind of file and can be embebed into a VB project.
My question is, how I create one and how do I call an archive in the res file?
For example I put some gifs in it (how?) and how can I call them from within my app?
Thank you!

.res files are resource files

VB comes with a resource file editor (you'll probably need to add it via the add-ins menu) which, whilst not as comprehensive in functionality as the Visual Studio resource file editors 9e.g. you can't easily include and use dialog box templates), is reasonably good.

I suggest you have a look

I use vb5 and I dont know what to to the add-in manager doesnt have a button to add the RCDLL.DLL :(
How do I do it?

Ah. Hmm, as far as I recall VB5 didn't come with the resource editor, although you could download it (have no idea whether you still can). Sorry

Anyone want a WORD document/tutorial? Covers Putting in and extracting the following to a resource file: icons, cursors, waves, gifs, jpegs, bitmaps, etc ...
