I have a Windows service app that uses MS Word XP automation. Until recently, the service logon was LocalSystem, but the powers that be prefer a certain domain user account instead. I can logon to my box as the domain user, and even start the MS Word, but the service still gets an exception creating an instance of Word. The box we use for testing has given the domain account Administrator rights and the app works properly. Given this evidence, I believe that this is a permissions problem.
