I have reports that I am saving to the document repository. The report is based on a universe and a spreadsheet. What I want to know is, can the Excel spreadsheet be sent to the repository for 'safe keeping'

Suz

Hi suzreid,

You cannot save the excel file in the repository instead it should be in a command directory which is accessible for the users who use the universe.

Sri

That's not completely accurate. You can put the Excel spreadsheet in the repository. You just can't access it's data from there. If you are using WebI, you can publish most any file to the repository and allow users to retrieve it.

Sri's answer is right when it comes to refreshing your report.

Yes one can put third party files (xls, doc, pdf..) in the repository but I'm afraid suzreid is having a report based on Universe and an Excel Spreadsheet. Now in that case the report cannot directly access the Excel file off the repository.
