I need to generate HTML code from a report without using the Wizard (it does a lousy job). I can write the code create the tags and such in a module but am not sure how to call the report into the VBA code.

If I really knew how it did it from my query, guess I could replicate that. I'm using cross tabs in my query, which may make things more difficult.

Anybody have any ideas/suggestions how to go about this?

Thanks!

Mary )

I suspect if you are writing your own HTML page that you would just write VBA code to open the datasource the same as your report.
In other words leave your report out all together.
What is the data source of the report a query or something?
Now if you need to see a visual of the report there is code to launch IE and display your new HTML report instead.

See rumor has it that applications as we know them will merge into one big Internet thingy.
So instead of having an Access report or even an Access form you'll have .html for rteports and .asp pages as forms. Then each person does not have to have Access.
but that a way's off yet.

DougP
dposton@universal1.com

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

The report is created from a crosstab query. In addition, I will be adding summaries of the columns and grand total, which obviously the query can't do.

I was hoping to find the code that generates the report and duplicate it in my module and then put HTML tags around it.

The report will be part of another HTML section. SO it needs to be an independent file. NO big deal, I did it before with another query... but it wasn't a crosstab and I didn't need summaries in it! That is where the challenge comes in!

I'm still learning ASP but haven't gotten to the part about connecting databases and generating tables from it yet.

Thanks!

Mary )

Thanks!
