Is there a way to have a report saved as an MS word or have someone see the report in its access run format with having access, i have 30 pages in which i will need to email through an attachment to have parts ordeered but the report is nasy when converted to excell or text but looks awesome when viewed in access or printed from access.

thanks

Have u tried the snapshot viewer???

This will export it to a snapshot file...

DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "rptName", "Snapshot Format", "C:\rptName.snp"

Once the user recieves the file they can open it using...

file->open in the snapshot viewer

I believe Snapshot viewer comes with Access / Office, but is freely avaliable from the MS site.
I use Access for company purchase orders, we send them all out in .snp format as they can't be changed once created!

Good Luck,

Steve.

this would work but can someone without access view it? isnt snapshot viewer part of access?

Its free from the MS website.

If I sent it out to someone who I am not sure if they have the viewer, I send a URL to the MS site to download the viewer.

Snapshot viewer is a stand alone exe.

U can view reports without access!

U can also view snaphot files through ure browser...i forgot to mention that in the last post.

There's a wealth of info in access help.
