Report Footer data not exported to Excel

I am using Access97.

I have a report with all the data in the report footer (the data is all Sums and Avgs--that is why i had to put it in the report footer section).

but, when i 'export data to excel', i end up with a blank Excel document.

does anyone know why my report footer data isn't printing in Excel?

PS-When i try exporting to Word, it works fine. All my data is exported.

My solution was to build a custom routine that created various temporary tables that were then processed and formatted into a single report table. In my case, I had various footers, sub-reports, etc. that did not want to port to Excel and also required special formatting. The easiest solution was to build a single table that could be copied directly to Excel. It worked for me. htwh. Steve Steve Medvid

I've no idea if this would work, but you could also try printing your report to a .txt file, then importing the data into excel.

Steve Medvid: So you suggest taking all my data currently in my report footer, putting that data into a temp. table and then creating a new report based on the temp. table?
and that can all be done via code triggered by the Report Footer OnPrint event?

Steve Root: i tried exporting to Word in a .rft format. how can you import to Word in a .txt format?

My approach was to build a report table in the past that mirrored the Excel sheet. Essentially, a database that had the number of columns that were needed within the Excel sheet. Then each row of the database table would match what was needed in the Excel sheet. This would include the sub-totals which were extensive calculations for an environmental system. I then reduced the formatting, cell movement coding needed to format the Excel sheet via VBA code.
