How can you distribute a report without having to buy the expensive server or Enterprise version with CR Pro 9.0 or with CR Adv Dev 10.0?

Hi,
Basically, print it and send copies to whoever needs it..

( Or, export it to PDF and send that to others)


If you want users without CR to be able to run the report and get fresh data, then you need the higher-priced options..( Did you not get the 5 user version of CE10 with your CR10 Adv Dev? If so, publish the reports to a CE server and grant access to your users..5 at a time can be connected, IIRC..)

The version of CR 10 ADV Dev that I was going to bid on is a Single User Version. DOes this mean that it does not come with CE10?

Don't know - depends on what the seller is including ( it came from Crystal with 2 CDs : CR and CE 5 user)

If by distributing the report you mean the compile and distribution feature, that went away starting with CR v9.

Yes, I did mean that compile and distribute. DId they take it away to make more money selling the Server that is out of most people's price range?

Yes..But for 5 concurrent users or less, a version of CE was included with CR.

So does this mean that you can compile and distribute teh reports using Enterprise?

Also, can you tell me if it is more worth while to use V8.5 with the compile and distribute option and is this version unlimited users? I am using 9.0 now and don't know how much I will lose by going down to 8.5 but it is worth it if I can distribute it to 50 computers so our agents can see their sales reports on their own PCs.

There is no need to compile reports, you can view them with a crystal reports viewer. There are several on Ken Hamady's website --
