Hi folks

I've been away from the Crystal forums for a while, but should be able to contribute more regularly once again.

I'm attempting to design a Standard form for Crystal Report Development/Amendments and rather than re-inventing the wheel I thought I'd chance my arm and see if anyone here has alreayy done this and is willing to share some information. Or alternatively does anyone know of any good resources to help with this requirement.

Thanks in Advance

I have a pretty basic EXCEL sheet that I use for report requests.

e-mail me at MJRBIM-at-INTERLOG-dot-COM

MJRBIM,

Could you copy the fields you use into this thread?

Hi Gary,

Welcome back!

One key element that should be included in any such template is Rationale/REASON for the report (what decisions/actions it would support).

Hi Ido
Thanks for the welcome.

I couldn't agree more with your statement, if i had a pound for every report I'd created on the whim of a department manager.

As long as I can charge them for it, department manager's can "whim" away to their heart's content....

To add to the above -

1. State the overall purpose of the report.

2. What is the frequency of the report?

3. What information do you want in the page header of your report? For example:

Customer Name Case Number City State Days Pending

4. What specific data should appear in the body of the report? For example, if you used the headings in the example above, the data in the body could be listed as follows:
John Smith 2004-1234 Detroit, MI 5

5. Do you want a chart included in the report? If so, what type (i.e. bar, pie, etc.) and where – header or footer?
No.

6.Please provide us with any other information that will help in the development of your report. (fonts, color preferences, special calculations etc)

7.Do you have a sample of the report? If yes, please attach a copy with this request.

8.Do you have any logos you would like to display on the report?

9.Do you have any data that needs to be conditionally highlighted?

11.Any Additional Notes?
