I am using Crystal 7.0 Professional and am attempting to compile/distribute a report.
I followed these steps:
Reports -> Compile Reports.
The Compile Report window opens and in the reports section Crystal automatically points to the directory where the report is stored and adds the .exe file extension to the path and name of the report in the 'compiled file name' text box. I choose not to create a program item for the report and that I do wish to distribute the report after compliation.
Clicking OK creates the executable report and brings up the Report Distribution Expert. On the Options tab I leave the report I just created the executable for and do not add anything additional. I do not choose to include the database files or DLLs. In the destination area, I choose a path to a directory on our network. When I click on the File List tab, Crystal begins analyzing the report for dependent files and returns the following error message:
"Attempt to open report <path\filename> has falied and the distribution list will not be complete. Please ensure that this report file is not corrupt."
I have attempted to create the files locally on my PC, but encounter the same error message. I find nothing about the report that indicates it is corrupt, and am at a loss to understand this error.
If anyone could offer some advice, I'd be grateful!
