replication errors 5 and 32

Hi guys,
On my PDC and 2 BDC's (all running Nt 4 enterprise) I've been getting the following in the application logs...

App: E 'Thu Nov 30 19:23:57 2006': REPLICATOR - " System error 32 occurred. "
App: E 'Thu Nov 30 19:23:56 2006': REPLICATOR - " System error 5 occurred. "

I was stuck with the errors for days (which is generated whenever they replicate - every 15 mins!).

Today I was able to fix the issue on the BDCs by locating a file in the IMPORT directory called "tmpfile.rp$" and modifying the permissions to allow the REPLICATOR group full control. The file wasn't in the IMPORT directory on my PDC, so I just left it. Now the file has dissappeared from the BDCs and they no longer generate the errors. The PDC is a different matter however.

Can anyone help?! It's driving me up the wall...

It seems the answer - atleast for the PDC - was to remove all the permissions on the netlogon directory and reinstate them.
