I'm running Windows 2000 Pro and would like to replace the Compaq or HP logo with my company logo during the bootup process. Does anyone know how?

I could be wrong, i havent done this on win2k but you should be able to do a search for logo.sys and rename that. then copy your company logo into the folder where logo.sys was and rename that to logo.sys.

No, it's much more difficult in Win2K and XP now.
You need to use a resource editor (Reshacker works well) and open up ntoskrnl.exe and actually paste the new picture into the proper resource there.
Pain in the butt, not really worth it. ________
