Replace phone number on website 1

Could anyone tell me how I would write a perl script to look for a specific phone number within a website and replace it with a new phone number? Thanks!
 
williey's route is probably best at this stage, but to answer your question, I'm not entirely sure, I was waiting for a wet Thursday afternoon to look at that in-place editing stuff, but I'd assume that that's the file specification *.html or whatever ;-)
