I have notebook with a screen that could handle 800X600 max. resolution. I would like to install windows XP on it but the problem is that the default system font in XP is too large. Is there a way to change the system font to a smaller one after installation? - I know win2K has a small font option in the display properties.
P.S. I don't want to change the DPI to a smaller value thant 96 since this will distort the font and make it illegible.

I don't fully understand your question. You can set various display modes via the adapter tab of the Display Properties page.

Also when you install XP one of the very last things it does is to check your display and asks you if it is OK or do you want to change it.

I am sorry if I have misunderstood what you are asking.

Sorry for the confusion,
The Max. resulotion I can get from the screen is 800X600. If I use the default system font the whole sceen will be taken by icons and the start button.
Oh! I guess here lies the confusion -- my screen is only 10.4" LCD monitor.
