For some reason, my security update software doesn't always recognize that a .NET Framework update has already been installed. This results in constant notifications that "an update is ready to install". The only way I can get it to stop is to turn off the automatic update feature. How can I fix this?

For some reason, some .NET patches either don't install or don't register as being installed. Instead of turning off automatic updates, you can bring up the Windows Update web site, check for patches, and then where it says "Don't show this update again", click that. It shouldn't show the update again.

It is not possible for anyone to acknowledge truth when their salary depends on them not doing it.

Thanks, Glenn9999. I'll give it a try.
