The system event log displays every hour:
Event ID: 10004
Source: DCOM

Description:
DCOM got error "Overlapped I/O Operation is in progress" and
was to logon DOMAIN\Administrator in order to run the Server:
{179894D5-B853-4F32-A7C1-7B2E7F69D271}

This appears on an Exchange 5.5 Server , Windows 2000 adv.
We changed the Administrator password last week,since then
this pops up every hour.Ran dcomcnfg,it did not display what
is referenced in the event log.Any ideas?

Did you find the solution to this? I am having the same thing happen.

Anyone find a solution to this problem. I'm getting this same error but it's not on an Exchange server and the error is repeating in the Event log every 30 seconds.

To resolve this problem, add the Exchange Server service account to the local Power Users group or local Administrators group on a member server. On a domain controller, add the account to the built-in Administrators group.
