Does anyone know how to rename IIS STMP Virtual Server? I am trying to rename it so when emails are sent, it will show that email source is for example "mymailserver.domain.com"?

Please help. Any suggestions or information would be appreciated.

That is correct.
If you specify a FQDN which does not match a PTR record mail servers which perform reverse DNS queries will drop your mail.
There is something interesting which you might have stumbled upon. If you are hosting and managing your own external DNS server for mydomain.com you have to receive a delegation from your ISP for the IP addresses that it provides for you. By default the ISP is the owner of these IP addresses and all reverse queries are pointing to the ISP's DNS servers.
It's a little bit tricky to set a classless reverse lookup zone.

My ISP is managing our external DNS server and can set the PTR records for us.

I will set up the FQDN so that it matches with the PTR record.

We use different DNS servers to resolve our IP(s) into and mydomain.com. Do I need to do anything here?
