Hello,
...Currently I am working on making the process of inserting an object (mainly word docs) in a DBase. The 'attachments' actually get inserted into a linked DBase. I am not concerned with the amount of space (memory) used by actually importing & not linking images to records. When a user imports (or even links) a word doc into a record, by defualt it gives it, "Document" as the name of the document. The dialog box in which Access uses to insert an object is quite 'clunky' for an average user - So, I am looking for assistance in figuring out how to make this more automated. But currently, the main question here arises when the user eventually may want to either export or use Access to email the record (especially w/the document) to another user or non-user (possibly) I would rather it retain the original documents name. Especially since these documents are legal documents, so name may be very, very important. Currently even if you rename the object when inserting, once you export it, it gives it a 'funny' name it apears (at least one time) that it gave it a name associated with the forms name?
...Is there a way to work the name aspect of this? If you have any ideas to make this process less clunky, I'm totally open to them! Remember, these are legal documents that may be important concerning court cases, so the name of the document can be very important.
I Appreciate Any Assistance,
