rename a workstation

Hello all,

i want to rename some a RS 6000 Workstations. Catia 4.2.4 is running adn AIX 4.3.3. So my question is: can i simply
edit the file /etc/hosts and rename the machines or is there any other thing i have to to. I don´t want to have any problems with catia or problems when other users login on another machine.

Who is Catia??

Editing your hosts file isn't enough. The easiest way is to go to 'smit tcpip', select 'further configuration' and 'hostname'. Then set hostname.

Don't know if Catia would mind, I think you have to ask her first.
