Removing the background in Photo Deluxe Home edition 4.0 1

I have a black and white drawing, and when you download an image/photo etc even if it is a round image it comes with a square white background. I want to be able to remove the background and just have the round image to animate etc. can this be done in Photo Deluxe? I have tried everything I can think of can anybody help with some instructions or any advice?

you will have to keep it square. just match the bg of ther image to that of your site or make it transparent.

Okay The transparent Idea sounds good! But how do I do that? I will look into the help to figure it out! But if you have any qiick tips let me know! Does transparent mean that I will still be able to see the image bg? I mean when I'm saving it or whatever will I actually be able to still see the bg until I use it in an application? Thanks though for the tip I was spending hours trying to loose the BG! Also are there better photo editing programs out there? What do you recommend?

for photo (or any image) editing I would always say Photoshop.

It is a tad on the expensive side but well worth evert penny.

The latest relese makes a lot of web image/design things easier once you know your way around it.

Also PS6 comes with Image ready which can speed up a lot of tasks, even writing HTML code for you (image maps etc) and letting you do animated gifs.

I am using Dreamweaver as well, what would you recomend in that case of course they say fireworks but I don't know have you ever heard of pagemaker?

Pagemaker if focused on print material.

I would go the PS route for pur graphics that cn be used for everything.
