A few of the shop floor PCs here had Office 97 installed from a location (over the network) that doesn't exist any more, and going to Add/Remove Programs tells me it can't find the path and promptly exits the unintall program. Is there a registry setting I can change to have it either look at the CD-ROM drive or a new network location? Thanks.

The path should be stored in this registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER \Software \Microsoft \Office \8.0 \Word \Options

BTW, look under both entries: ProgramDir AND Startup-Path
